P.C.I.S. Olympics !
Ceremony June 4th, 1999 for the June Olympics

This is the 8th grade band at the opening ceremony of the Olympics. They did a very nice performance consisting of pieces like Olympic Spirit and Olympic Fanfare.

Mr. Bill Collins ( on the left ) and Mr. Lyman Goding ( on the right ) said a few opening words before the actual ceremony had begun.

As every team enters the gym, they each yell their own cheer. This is the Apollo red team with their banner. Each team makes and designs their own banner. Apollo red ( shown above ) were the Dragons, Ranger purple were the Ringmasters, Gemini blue were the Beasts, Gemini gold were the Minotaurs, Mercury green were the Gophers, and Apollo silver were the Stallions.

In the back, you can see the class of 2005. The 6th graders annually come and watch the opening ceremony. Parents and siblings come and cheer on family and friends.
The band and the chorus joined together to sing and play America the Beautiful. Mr. Paul Howard ( the band conductor ) and Mrs. Sandy Runnels ( the chorus conductor ) spent time putting together this song.

The team helpers gather together to get ready for the upcoming events on this day. More team helpers are outside setting up for their events like soccer and flag football.

The Mercury Green Gophers came marching and shouting their cheer into the gymnasium.

The teams marched in and sat down for a pep talk before the first game started. The Gemini Gold Minotaurs, the Gemini Blue Beasts, and the Apollo Silver Stallions are shown in this picture.

Teachers from the red team take a rest before the first game starts. The teachers do not usually participate in the Olympic games, but it can be hard just sitting around getting a tan!!

All of the teams march down to the gym to start the Olympic games. There, they are seated and ready to watch the ceremony.

Let the games begin!
